Chain paused at block 24,092 — v1.1 restart in progress

Vivuscoin: a small, open proof-of-work coin — restarting in the open.

SHA-256d, 240-second blocks, 50 VVC reward. Chain paused at block 24,092 since 2021; the v1.1 upgrade brings it back. Everything about supply and ownership is published here.

What Vivuscoin is

A Bitcoin-derived proof-of-work coin from 2021 with a published premine, a paused chain and a concrete plan to restart it. Nothing here is hidden, and nothing is for sale.

Nothing hidden

127.03 million VVC exist. About 125.8 million were mined by the founder in the first 120 blocks, and the founder still holds about 119.2 million of them. That is roughly 94 % of the supply, and it is stated on every page where it matters.

Proof of work you can verify

SHA-256d, the same hash as Bitcoin, on Bitcoin-derived code released under the MIT licence. Run a node, check every block yourself.

What is Vivuscoin

A real restart plan

The 2021 difficulty rules let the chain get stuck. v1.1 adjusts difficulty every block, recovers from stalls within hours and refuses deep reorganisations.

Roadmap

Transparency, up front.

Of the 127.03 million VVC in existence, about 125.8 million were premined in the first 120 blocks and about 119.2 million (~94 %) are still held by the founder. VVC is not listed on any exchange and has no market price. The airdrop programme exists to distribute part of that holding. Every number is on the Supply & transparency page.

Get started in three steps

You can install and prepare now. Transactions confirm again once blocks are being produced.

  1. Download the wallet

Vivuscoin Core v1.0.0.3 for Windows and macOS (2021). v1.1 wallets are coming with the restart; you will need to upgrade before the activation height.

  2. Create an address

Let the wallet sync to block 24,092, then open the Receive tab. Your address starts with A. Back up wallet.dat.

  3. Get VVC

There are two ways: mine solo through the stratum endpoint, or register for the airdrop. There is no exchange.

How to mine

Point any SHA-256d miner at the solo stratum endpoint with your VVC address as the username.

The pool runs in solo mode: every block you find pays its full 50 VVC reward directly to the address you use as the username. Nothing is held by the pool, and there is nothing to withdraw.

Mining guide
Solo stratum
Pool URL: stratum+tcp://pool.vivuscoin.com:3333
Username: your VVC wallet address (e.g. A... from the Vivuscoin wallet)
Password: x

Example: -a sha256d -o stratum+tcp://pool.vivuscoin.com:3333 -u <YOUR_VVC_ADDRESS> -p x

Blocks only count once the network is producing them again.

Until the v1.1 restart your miner will connect and submit shares, but the chain may not advance. Watch Network status.

Straight answers

What is Vivuscoin?

An open-source proof-of-work coin built on Bitcoin-derived code. It uses SHA-256d, targets a block every 240 seconds and pays 50 VVC per block. Genesis was in 2021; the chain has been paused at block 24,092 since September 2021 and is being restarted with the v1.1 upgrade.

Who owns the supply?

Mostly the founder. Of 127.03 million VVC, about 125.8 million were premined in the first 120 blocks and the founder still holds about 119.2 million, roughly 94 %. Everyone else holds about 7.8 million. The full breakdown is on the Supply & transparency page.

Can I buy VVC?

No. VVC is not listed on any exchange and has no market price. Anyone quoting one is not us. The only ways to get VVC are to mine it or to register for the airdrop.

Why is the chain paused?

The 2021 rules adjusted difficulty only every 5,040 blocks. Difficulty was pushed up, the hash power left, and the chain stalled at block 24,092 on 2021-09-22. v1.1 adjusts difficulty every block and recovers from a stall within hours. See the roadmap.

Long-term mission

Why the name “digital life token”

The whitepaper sets out a research ambition, not a product: to make life inside a computer indistinguishable from biological life by scanning and simulating a human brain in full physical detail, so that people could one day leave their biological bodies and live in a digital form.

Vivuscoin is meant to be the currency that pays for computational resources in that future. That is the motivation behind the project; it is not a claim about what the coin does today.
